Andrew Young was hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Video Services at Auburn University in March of 2014. He began his career in athletic video production as an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and then went on to intern for CBS News in New York City and the New York Mets. Andrew worked full-time positions at the Mets, ABC News and ESPN before returning to HuskerVision as a Graduate Assistant. From 2004 to 2014, Andrew developed and oversaw Illini Productions, the video department at the University of Illinois. Since arriving at Auburn, Andrew has overseen the development of War Eagle Productions, which produces approximately 250 live productions a year. He oversees all live big screen productions, SEC Network productions and weekly television shows. He also works to ensure coverage of all 19 sports, supervising the production of end-of-the-season highlight tapes, special video projects, marketing commercials and web content. He supervises a wide range of staff that includes full-time employees, freelance videographers and approximately 80 student employees.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Andrew holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He and his wife Kelley have two children, Audrey and Simon.
