Bryant is in his ninth year with the Big South Conference and his sixth year as Director of Multimedia Development. He is also the administrative liaison for the Baseball Championship.
Bryant, who joined the Big South staff in September 2007 as Coordinator of New Media, has spearheaded the Conference’s growth in video streaming and social media, as well as overseeing many developments with the Big South website, www.BigSouthSports.com. Bryant coordinates all programming for the Big South Network, the League’s online video channel that now includes more than 900 streamed events annually. He also is responsible for developing the Conference’s social media presence, which has included the launch and growth of outlets on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Of those, he currently manages the content on Facebook and YouTube.
Bryant continues to coordinate design and maintenance of the league website, while assisting with the conference’s public relations and marketing programs. He has also handled television play-by-play on various Big South football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball broadcasts.
Bryant joined the Big South after spending nearly three years with H&R Block, first as Public Information Coordinator in Columbia and then moving to his more recent role as Assistant District Manager/Divisional Marketing Manager for the company in Charlotte.
Prior to his move to the Charlotte-area, Bryant spent eight years with the minor league baseball Capital City Bombers in Columbia, S.C. from 1996-2004, including the final six years as Assistant General Manager. He handled a variety of roles, including media/public relations, advertising, sponsorship sales and radio play-by-play. He was awarded the 1997 South Carolina AP Award for “First Place, Sports Play-by-Play.” Prior to joining the Bombers, Bryant was a sports and news reporter, producer and writer for WIS-TV and WISW-AM in Columbia from 1994-96. His television work also includes a stint at TV-43 in Hopkinsville, Ky., as a weather anchor, assistant producer and graphics designer.
Bryant also has handled play-by-play for Comcast Sports Southeast, Fox SportSouth, South Carolina Educational Television and Comet MultiMedia during his career, and is the author of the book, “Baseball in Columbia.”
A native of Tampa, Fla., Bryant is a 1992 graduate of the University of Florida, and resides in Concord, N.C., with his wife, Jeanne, and son, Griffin.
